So, I say to myself, perhaps not everything has been written, perhaps we just need to change our point of view, look better inside, look better also outside, break the mold. Dare more . Because I believe that one of the biggest obstacles in blogging is ourselves, it is something that stops us from writing what we would like to write more than anything else, but which for reasons of shyness or fear we still don't write. Memento audere semper , sang D'Annunzio. With the emphasis on always . Visual content vs. textual content Today we talk a lot about visual content – if I don't call it visual , you still understand, right? – as if they were a godsend. I generally don't like them, they don't resonate with me, but I don't mind them, ok. I don't watch videos, they bore me, unless it's a film. I don't read slides, I find them abnormal, I prefer a good article.
I don't even like infographics anymore, I have nothing left of that two kilometer tall column. I can't stand posts full of images, because they weigh down the page and don't give me anything extra. But everyone now says to focus on visual content. Ok, but have we done the math on what visual content really means? How much does it cost a company to create a Phone Number Data good video? And get an infographic designed? And have a group of 50 slides created? How many companies can spend all that money? Folks, an article costs less (not 3 euros like the miserly people want to pay, but still not hundreds like an excellent visual content could cost). The problem, perhaps, is that today people read little and online, especially on social media, we need more immediate and direct communication. Ok, on social media I can understand it.
But when I start a blog, I want to read a nice post that changes me for the better. This is my thought, let's be clear, and let it take its time. Feel free to say in the comments what you think of these visual contents and if you prefer them to text-based ones. I'll add one more thing: is an in-depth post on a topic X or an image positioned better? Or a video? Storytelling, or narrativity in blogging Perhaps it still escapes some people, but narration is the most natural and human form of communication. The man tells and always does so, every day. We have been telling stories since we were children. Narrating therefore comes naturally to us, it seems logical and simple. So we have to ask ourselves why this form of communication isn't used more often and better in blogging. Now it is called storytelling and it is attributed values and functions that go far beyond simple storytelling. If we use an article to talk about our problem or our success, that too is storytelling.
